x+y=180o−90o. x+y=90o. That is, the sum of the two acute angles in a right ... Using the cosine function you can solve for c , the hypotenuse.

Hypothenuse= 3
Opposite= x
Adjacent= y
Angle= 30°

From SOHCAHTOA,

Opposite / Hypothenuse= x/3 = sin(30°)

x= 3sin30°

x= 3 × ½= 3/2= 1.5

Also, from Pythagoras theorem,

(Hypothenuse)²= (Opposite)² + (Adjacent)²

3²= x² + y²

9= (3/2)² + y²

y²= 9 - 9/4= (36 - 9)/4= 27/4

y= √(27/4)= (3√3)/2= (3/2)√3.
