The Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, Jama’are, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the key principal officer positions. Established in 2021, the College is steadily developing into a premier tertiary institution in Nigeria.

Available Positions

1. Provost

The Provost is the Chief Executive, Administrative, and Accounting Officer of the College. Responsibilities include providing academic, administrative, and professional leadership.

• Qualifications: Must possess a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in a field relevant to the College’s programs.
• Experience: Minimum of 15 years post-qualification teaching/research experience; must be a Chief Lecturer with at least 5 years cognate experience.
• Requirements: Must be a registered member of a professional Association in Education and possess a teaching qualification (NCE or PGDE).

2. Bursar

The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer responsible for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the College.

• Qualifications: Good honors degree or HND in Accountancy or Finance.
• Experience: At least 21 years of cognate experience. Must have served as a Deputy Bursar on CONTEDISS 15.
• Certification: Must be a member of a recognized Professional Accounting Body.

3. College Librarian

The College Librarian is responsible for the administration of the College Library and the coordination of library services.

• Qualifications: Good honors degree with a Master in Library Science (MLS). A Ph.D. is an added advantage.
• Experience: At least 18 years of cognate experience (or 12 years if holding a Ph.D.).
• Registration: Must be registered with the Professional Library Body.

General Requirements & Conditions

• Age Limit: Candidates must not be above 59 years of age at the time of taking up the appointment.
• Tenure: A single term of five (5) years only.
• Vision Statement: Candidates must submit a vision and mission statement for the College (maximum 2 pages).
