The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the University of Cross River State wishes to inform the entire student community that significant progress has been made following a productive engagement with the University Management regarding the ongoing industrial action affecting academic activities.

​During the meeting, extensive deliberations were held on the concerns that led to the disruption of academic activities. We are pleased to report that meaningful dialogue is currently ongoing among the relevant stakeholders, with a shared commitment to achieving a fair and sustainable resolution.

​The Students’ Union Government remains actively involved in these engagements and is continuously advocating for the collective interests of students. We have received encouraging assurances that efforts are being intensified to bring the situation to an amicable conclusion and facilitate the prompt resumption of normal academic activities.

​In view of these positive developments, we urge all students to remain calm, patient, and optimistic. While we understand the anxiety and uncertainty that this situation may have created, we encourage every student to remain hopeful as discussions continue to advance in a constructive direction.

​As a Union, we recognize the importance of uninterrupted academic progress and the aspirations of thousands of students whose educational pursuits have been affected. Consequently, we are working closely with all relevant authorities to ensure that the concerns at hand are addressed in a manner that safeguards both the integrity of the institution and the academic future of our students.

​We wish to reassure students, parents, guardians, and the general public that the Students’ Union Government remains steadfast in its commitment to securing a favorable outcome. We are optimistic that the ongoing negotiations will yield positive results and pave the way for a swift return to the classrooms.

​We sincerely appreciate the patience, understanding, and maturity demonstrated by our students throughout this period. Together, we shall overcome this challenge and continue our collective pursuit of academic excellence.
