In a memorandum signed by the Attorney General, Ittoro Gabriel, the SUG announced an immediate ban on all forms of noise and disruptive behaviour in and around study halls. The goal, according to the statement, is to ensure that students utilizing classrooms overnight for intensive preparation have an equal opportunity to focus.

The directive explicitly prohibits audio disturbances such as playing music, podcasts, or movies via speakers. It also bans loud vocalizations, including singing, chanting, and loud group discussions in designated quiet areas.

In a notable clause, the policy restricts religious activities, stating that "organized loud prayers or devotions must be moved to designated worship areas or held outdoors" to avoid distracting fellow students.

Citing what it calls the "Golden Rule," the SUG advised that if a neighbor can hear you, you are too loud.

To enforce the new rules, the memorandum encourages every student to take photo or video evidence of any individual(s) violating the rules. It warns that any student caught or captured on record violating the directive "will be sued and prosecuted in the SUG Courts for public nuisance and academic sabotage."

The SUG concluded by wishing all students good luck in their forthcoming examinations.
