The Office of the Chief Security Officer of the Faculty of Management Sciences Students Association (FAMSSA), University of Uyo, has announced strict regulations governing the use of the Old Business Lecture Hall (OBLH) for night classes.

In a notice dated 7th March, 2026, the Faculty Chief Security Officer, Udoh Mentor, stated that the facility is provided strictly for academic purposes and students must adhere to new rules aimed at maintaining discipline, security, and a conducive learning environment.

According to the directive, students who intend to use OBLH for night classes must possess a valid physical means of identification, preferably a student identity card or any other approved form of identification. Security personnel have been instructed to request identification when necessary, and students unable to present proper identification may be denied access to the facility.

The notice also announced that Room 8 has been designated exclusively for final year students. The arrangement is intended to provide adequate space for final year students to carry out academic work, research, and project preparation. Other students have been strictly prohibited from occupying or using the room.

Additionally, the faculty management raised concern over cases of students urinating within the OBLH premises. The act was described as a serious violation of faculty regulations. Henceforth, any student caught urinating anywhere within the facility during night classes will face an immediate fine of ₦5,000, alongside possible disciplinary actions.

Students have been strongly advised to comply fully with the new directives as the faculty will not tolerate any act of indiscipline or misconduct. Security personnel have also been mandated to strictly enforce the regulations.

The management emphasized that students’ cooperation is necessary to maintain order, cleanliness, and a safe academic environment within the facility.
