(a) ldentification of Specimens;
- Specimen A - hammer,
- B - spanner;
- C- file;
- D -watering can;
- E - wheel barrow;
- F- hand trowel.
(b) Uses of specimens-
Specimen A:
- for straightening damaged or bent components of farm implements;
- for driving nails into the wooden parts of farm structures and equipment.
- the ballpoint is used for riveting.
- the Pronged end is used for removing nails from wood.
Specimen B:
- for tightening of bolts and nuts of farm implements
- for loosening of bolts and nuts of farm implements
Specimen C:
- for sharpening blades of farm tools
- for Smoothening rough surfaces of farm implements.
Specimen D:
- used for watering vegetables or seedlings in nurseries (irrigation)
- for applying liquid fertilizers
- used for watering cement blocks which are used for constructing am house.
Specimen E:
- for transporting farm produce and farm inputs
- transporting manure from livestock pens to the field
Specimen F:
- is used for transplanting.
- for fertilizer application.
- used for nursery practices
- light cultivation/ weeding.
- digging holes for planting.
- sampling soil/mixing soil.
(c) Maintenance practices:
Specimen D:
- wash and keep dry/clean after use to prevent rusting,
- hang upside down.
- keep the nozzles free from blockages.
- store /keep in a cool, dry place,
Specimen E:
- clean after use /wash and dry,
- grease/lubricate the wheel joints,
- tighten bolts on wheels properly,
- replace worn-out parts,
- store/keep in a Cool dry place,
- paint when necessary.
Specimen F:
- clean, wash and dry after use,
- straighten bent blade,
- sharpen the blunt blade,
- store in a termite-free area,
- store in a cool, dry place
