With your score of 179, you are below the typical cut-off for Medicine and Surgery in most Nigerian universities, including the University of Uyo (Uniuyo). Your best course of action is to change to a related course within the science faculty that aligns with your JAMB subjects (English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and has a lower cut-off, such as Botany, Zoology, Animal and Environmental Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
Courses You Can Consider:
Botany
Zoology
Animal and Environmental Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Other Science-related courses: that use your subject combination, like Agricultural Science or Forestry.
What to do next:
1. Check the Official Uniuyo Cut-Off Marks:
Visit the University of Uyo's official website to find the precise cut-off marks for various faculties and departments for the current academic year.
2. Contact the University Directly:
Reach out to the Uniuyo admissions office to confirm which science-based courses are within the cut-off range for your JAMB score and subject combination.
3. Explore Other Universities:
You may also find other institutions that offer Medicine and Surgery, or similar courses, with lower cut-off marks than Uniuyo.
4. Apply for a Different Programme:
If your heart is set on medicine, you could apply to other universities for similar medical or health-related fields with lower admission requirements or for another year's admission.
