The cell was first discovered by Robert Hooke in 1665 using a microscope. The first cell theory is credited to the work of Theodor Schwann and Matthias Jakob Schleiden in the 1830s.

it was Robert hooke, he was an English scientist he actually discovered that (the cell) by magnifying thin slice of a cork of an oak tree after Robert hooke was Felox dujardin who discover the protoplasm ( which is made up of the cytoplasm and Nucleus).
