The answer is (X +2Y)/3
Km per hour..
For the first kne the distance travelled is X km..
The second one, the distance traveled is 2Y kM..
D=V*time
Total distance = X+2Y
Total time taken is 3hours
Average velovity is D/t
Therefore we have (X+2Y)/3
