According to the possessive cases Why do you say 'give him his book 'for males...

According to the possessive cases
Why do you say 'give him his book 'for males and then you say 'give her her book 'base on the fact that the possessive form of he is his and demonstrative form is him. Why don't we write the possessive form of she to be hers and demonstrative to be her?
