The management of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has suspended a lecturer at the institution, Dr. Chigozie Odum, accused of impregnating a student and threatening her. 

Dr. Odum, a senior lecturer in the Department of Archeology and Tourism, Faculty of Arts was accused by a female student of the department, Onah Chinyere of allegedly forcefully having sexual relations with her, and getting her pregnant in the process. Read the previous report here.

The university, via a letter issued on Monday, February 15, 2021, and signed by the Deputy Registrar of the university, Mrs. Achiuwa F.C, confirmed the suspension of the lecturer.

According to the suspension letter, the lecturer is expected to stay away from the school environment pending when a final decision will be taken on the allegations levied against him.
