A former Special Assistant to Kwara State Governor on Information and Communication Technology, Mr. Hamzat Umaru, and Chief Executive Officer, FEMTEC Computers Limited, Mr. Emmanuel Abidoye, have canvassed the introduction of computer education in all primary and secondary schools across the country.

They spoke in Ilorin on Thursday during the final stage of an ICT league in secondary schools in Kwara State.

Umaru said computer education should rather become a culture in the schools. He added that it would facilitate teaching and learning as well as expose the pupils and students to the opportunities inherent in being computer compliant.

“All primary and secondary schools in the country should be ICT compliant. It is not a big deal for that to happen. It is a culture. If we want our society to grow on the tenets of ICT, then, it is important that we begin to adopt it and look at it more as a culture,” Umaru said.

Abidoye said ICT has the propensity to improve teaching and learning.
