In a bid to make education less burdensome, a firm, Delateur Services, has invested N20 million to boost Information Technology education in Nigeria.

Addressing newsmen in his office in Lagos recently, the Principal Partner, Mr. 'Yemi Adeyemi-Enilari, said the investment was made over the last 20 years through the company's solution called; Academia, that enable teachers, students and parents have interaction without physical contact.

He explained that this solution helps them especially the parents to know how their children are faring in school while in their comfort zones.

Adeyemi-Enilari also pointed out that for all these interactions to take place, is for school authorities to register on the Academia website whereby the parents can be able to access their kids performance without having to meet with their teachers physically.

The solution he said is going to remain free for public usage in the next 2 years, will see school authorities paying at least N100, 000 annually to subscribe on Academia services then. On challenges, he observed that Internet and electricity may be the issue because all parties involved needs all these capacities to be able to access and enjoy Academia solution efficiently.

On how they are selling the idea, Adeyemi-Enilari maintained that they have been trying by way of dropping proposals but it has been a bit slow.

On why it has been slow, he said; "some teachers specifically told me that it is going to be more work for them and that school owners will not pay them for it".

He, however, hinted that the is an avenue where teachers can upload assignments for students and could be submitted online as well. "Academia is going to set schools on a high pedestal. Everybody is embracing IT wireless so, we should think and move forward," he said.
