The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, (JAMB), Prof Ishaq Oloyede, has raised concern over the increased number of fake Computer-based Test (CBT) centres, especially in the northern part of the country.

The registrar during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday 10 February, complained about the increase of fraudulent CBT centres in the North, which according to him, has always been a problem from the south.

Ishaq revealed that the board would spend not less than N100 million to prosecute 200 out of the over 400 persons involved in alleged impersonation in the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), where some institutions were accomplices in the widespread fraud.

He further disclosed that the board was currently treating 64 cases of CBT violations from the North, with some centres having multiple cases of up to 96 irregularities.
