Federal University Dutse is located in the ancient town of Dutse the Jigawa State Capital, Northwest, Nigeria. The University focused on strong tradition of distinguished scholarship, research, teaching and services that are organised to increase and disseminate scientific, humanistic, and social knowledge for the benefit of the larger society. The University was among the nine universities established by the Federal Government on the 9" February 2011. It has eleven (11) Faculties including College of Medicine and Allied Medical Sciences and a School of Postgraduate Studies. It has population of over twenty thousand (20,000) students.
The tenure of Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Dutse will expire on 10 February 2025. Consequently, the Governing Council, in accordance with the provisions of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act No. 11 of 1993 (as amended) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of Vice-Chancellor.

2. Job Description:
The Vice-Chancellor serves as the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the university, responsible for general supervision and administration. He/she Provides leadership in creating and maintaining academic standards and policies. He/she is to ensure responsible management of university funds and resources. In addition, he must ensure peace, law and order within the institution while implementing policies and programmes. He/she is also the Chairman of the Senate and ex-officio member of the Governing Council.
