Not admitted" on JAMB CAPS means you have not yet been offered admission, but it is not a rejection and you should not panic. This status indicates that admissions are still being processed in batches, or your school has not yet uploaded your details to the JAMB system. You should continue to check your CAPS portal regularly, as your status could change in subsequent lists.
What "Not Admitted" could mean
Awaiting admission lists: Your institution may not have sent the first batch of names to JAMB yet, or you were not included in the first list.
Awaiting uploaded O'level results: If you used "awaiting results" during your UTME registration, you must upload your results to the CBT center to change this status.
Not yet considered: Your institution may not have considered you for admission yet due to various factors, and there may be more lists to come.
Awaiting final review: In some cases, your status may remain "NOT ADMITTED" even if you are close to admission, but your school has not yet completed the process.
What to do
Keep checking: Continue to check your JAMB CAPS portal regularly, especially if your school has started releasing admission lists.
Check your O'level status: Ensure you have uploaded all your O'level results to your JAMB profile.
Stay positive: "Not admitted" does not always mean you will be rejected, so try to remain calm and hopeful.
