Managing Director and Chief Executive of Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, Mr. Eddie Efekoha, has re-emphasized the need for increased insurance education for the public and especially for the country’s teeming youths.

Speaking at a Career Talk for students in secondary schools in Lagos organised by Professional Insurance Ladies Association (PILA), Efekoha stressed the need for more insurance education in the country.

Efekoha, who stood in for the President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, CIIN, Mr. Fatai Lawal as the chairman of the occasion also commended the efforts of PILA in ensuring that insurance education is instilled in the next generation right from their childhood.
Mr. Kola Ahmed, Director General of CIIN emphasised the Institute’s total commitment to insurance education and public awareness.
Speaking on the topic ‘The Splendor of the Insurance Profession,’ Managing Director and Chief Executive of International Energy Insurance Plc, Mrs. Roseline Ekeng, highlighted the dynamics of the insurance profession as well as entry criteria to Nigerian universities to study insurance.

In her welcome address, the Vice President of PILA, Mrs. Yetunde Adenuga, explained that one of the cardinal objectives of PILA is public enlightenment campaign on the need for insurance and the education of the younger generation on the benefits of taking insurance as a profession.

“In achieving this, the association organises career talk for students in both private and public secondary schools in Lagos state to increase awareness on insurance products and also to build a good understanding of the insurance profession to the younger ones,” she stated.
