Abstract:
A management information system is a network of communication channels in an organization from the points of data origination through the processing procedures to the decision making (feedback) then from the point of decision back through the information channels to the points of implementation of the decision (control). This suggests that a management information system is indispensable to any organization. Its crucial role in organizational development demands an effective and efficient mode of operation. The attainment of these objectives necessitates the utilization of computers for data processing and dissemination of information.

Computerization of the management information system facilitates timely dissemination of information to management for decision making enhances accuracy in data manipulations and makes for speedy information flow within the organizational structure. This is the purpose which this study seeks to bring to the fore. With particular reference to the billing system of NETEL Enugu, the researcher wishes to show how the computerization of the system has facilitated customer identification, customer billing, vetting, and bills distribution in such efficient management by which customer service have tremendously improved in the light of productivity and profitability.

In furtherance of the research objectives recommendations were made, which if implemented, the researcher hopes will bring about efficiency and effectiveness of organizational operations in general and decision making in particular. making in particular.
