Abstract:
Stress is our reaction to a situation that poses demands, constraints, and opportunities. The workplace has produced a lot of stressors (causes of stress) which have consequently, negatively affected the productivity of employees over the years. It was in realization of the above stated that this research strategy for managing stress and frustration among business managers was carried out. Diamond banks in the Enugu metropolis were used as a case study. A survey research method was used in this study, where four research questions and four paired hypotheses were used to direct the focus of the study. From a population of 500 staff members of diamond banks, Taro Yamane's statistical formula was used to arrive at a sample size of 222.

A questionnaire constructed in a closed-ended format was used in collecting primary data from the bank's personnel. Chi-square was used in testing the formulated hypotheses. Based on the analysis, results showed that Diamond bank managers have not paid good attention to stressors in their various branches. Based on the above findings, it was concluded that there exists a symbiotic relationship between stress management and productivity in the workplace. As a result, it was recommended that business managers should involve employees in decision-making. This will consequently reduce the role of stress in the long run. Other key areas were recommended for further research.
