Abstract:
The study examines mycotoxins available in foodstuff vended in Awka. The findings showed that the various fungi organisms such as Aspergilus spp, fusarium spp, Mucor, and Rhizopor are all associated with the food samples vended in Awka and all these organisms produce aflatoxins of different concentrations. The study indicates that the sample of foodstuff gotten from Nwka Amaeyi Market contains a high level of fungi infestations as indicated by LSD mean value of 7.1 and that food sample collected from tempest market and Eke Awka have a low level of infestation.
