Niyi Osundare's "The Leader and the Led" is a satiric poem as it is written to mock the leaders and followers in post-colonial Africa, particularly Nigeria. He compares the leaders to various animals to provide vivid descriptions of the failures of our African leaders who put their selfish interests above all else.
Osundare mocks the leaders and followers in post-colonial Africa with the aim of correcting them.
