This encounter is the one that lead to the theme of love because after this encounter lakunle fell in love with sidi
And moreso the morning encounter also bring out the theme of marriage. This is what lead to the comparison of tradition and modern way of marriage
When lakunle was telling sidi that it doesn't matter for him to pay sick's pride price before she become his wife.

AFRICAN DRAMA: THE LION AND THE JEWEL

Examine the encounter between Lakunle and Sidi in Morning.

In the African drama "The Lion and the Jewel" by Wole Soyinka, the encounter between Lakunle and Sidi in the morning showcases their contrasting perspectives and values. Lakunle, a modern schoolteacher, believes in education and equality between men and women. On the other hand, Sidi, a beautiful village girl, values tradition and desires material wealth and status. Their interaction highlights the clash between modernity and tradition in African society.
