For anyone that comes across this, it is "D". Plot is actually "the main event of a play or the storyline." Now consider the famous question whereby you are told to write the summary of a novel, I guess you will aim for the main event of the novel, right? Main event=summary=plot. And don't forget that it's not all the plot that is arranged in a logical order, we have inorganic or episodic plots like detective or thriller movies. So "D" is the best answer.

This is an interesting question from JAMB. The correct answer is A please.
The plot of a novel refers to the sequence of events that make up the narrative, including the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. It is the underlying structure of the story, including the key events, conflicts, and turning points that drive the narrative forward. Option A accurately describes the plot as the essential framework of the story, stripped of unnecessary details, and presented in a logical and coherent order.
The other options are not accurate descriptions of the plot:
B. The story in all its details would be the entire narrative, including descriptions, dialogue, and other elements, not just the plot.
C. The story grossly elaborated would imply an excessive or exaggerated version of the story, rather than the concise and essential framework of the plot.
D. A summary of the story would be a brief recap of the narrative, not the plot itself.
E. The beginning, middle, and end of the story would be a vague description of the narrative structure, but not the specific sequence of events that make up the plot.

The correct answer is A. The bare outline of the story arranged in logical order.
The plot of a novel refers to the underlying structure or sequence of events that make up the narrative. It's the skeleton or framework of the story, including key events, conflicts, and turning points, arranged in a logical and coherent order.
