In 'the lion and the jewel', this is the scene were Baroka tells Sadiku that he is impotent even though this isn't true. He says it in order to make sure that Sadiku tells Sidi. He does this in order to be able to lure Sidi to bed.
The speaker (Baroka) does not abhor polygamy in the sense that he has alot of wives with Sadiku as his head wife.

C. Is a crafty seducer

Explanation:

Baroka pretends to be impotent as part of his plan to trick Sidi into letting her guard down. By making Sadiku believe he has lost his manhood, he ensures that Sidi underestimates him, leading to her eventual seduction.

A. Abhors polygamy → Wrong, because Baroka fully embraces polygamy and even wants Sidi as his newest wife.

B. Has become impotent → Wrong, because his claim of impotence is a lie to deceive Sidi.

D. Is disgusted with life → Wrong, because Baroka is actually very confident and enjoys his power and influence.

Thus, C. Is a crafty seducer is the best choice, as he uses deception and manipulation to achieve his goal.

The correct answer is B and not A. Baroka was lieing to Sadiku thet he was impotent,@myschool pls take note of this.✍️

Baroka did not in any try to mean he abhors polygamy, he was trying to deceive his eldest wife, Sadiku that he was impotent to lure Sidi into his seductive trap.

I agree that the correct answer is B and not A because Baroka said it to highlight his impotency to get sidi's attention knowing fully well that Sadiku would go running to tell sidi.
