there is no form of tension in a farce, it thrives on absurdity and improbable situations. It's major aim is to make people laugh and nothing more. However, a tragic play thrives on serious atmosphere and tension. In order to reduce the tension, comic relief is introduced during catastatis or epitasis. kindly change the answer to tragedy

A playwright might introduce a comic relief character or scene in a tragedy to provide a temporary break from the tension and intensity of the main plot. This technique is common in tragic plays, where moments of humor or light-heartedness serve to alleviate the audience's emotions and offer contrast to the more serious themes and events unfolding on stage. Shakespearean tragedies, such as "Hamlet" or "Macbeth," often feature comic relief characters or scenes to balance the somber tone of the overall play.
