Library and Information Science can be studied under the Sciences in the following Nigerian Universities;

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Library and Information Science under the Faculty of Sciences in the above listed universities include;
Mathematics, Physics and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) KWASU accepts any three subjects.
(ii) RSUST requires English Language, Literature in English, Christian Religious Knowledge, Government
(iii) UNILORIN requires Mathematics, Physics and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography.
The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Library and Information Science;
You require;Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two other science subjects
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) KWASU accepts 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) other subjects.
(ii) UNILORIN requires Credit passes in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), NECO, GCE or its equivalent in five (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics at not more than 2 sittings
(iii) RSU requires Five (5) WASC/SSCE/GCE/ NECO O’Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics and any other Three (3) Subjects
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Library and Information Science, if you don't intend to use UTME.
You require;(i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics
(ii) NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UDUSOK accept ND upper credit in Computer Science or other Mathematically based programmes.
(ii) UNILORIN requires
a) Two (2) passes in any subject area at Advanced Level with SSCE/GCE ‘O’ level credit passes in three other subjects in not more than two (2) sittings.
b) Three (3) passes in any subject area at Advanced Level with SSCE/GCE ‘O’ level Credit Passes in two (2) other subjects in not more than two (2) sittings.
c) National Diploma (Upper Credit) in Library and Information Science from recognized polytechnics
d) Diploma at Merit level in Library and Information Science from recognized universities
(iii) KWASU accepts Library and information Science ND in Library Science at Upper Credit level or NCE (Merit) in relevant field.
(iv) BASU requires Physics and Chemistry in addition to the UTME requirements.
(v) RSU - For Library and Information Science: Admission into Year III; Holder of Degree in relevant discipline. HND (Upper Credit) in relevant discipline. Admission into Year II; HND (Lower Credit) in relevant programme. HND in any other discipline. OND/ND (Upper Credit) in relevant discipline. In addition, all such candidates above must also satisfy the U.M.E. entry requirements.
