In a Cabinet (Parliamentary) system, the executive stays in power only as long as they have the "confidence" of the legislature. If the ruling party loses its majority or a coalition falls apart, the government can collapse at any time, leading to instability in tenure compared to the fixed terms in a Presidential system.
