The correct option is D and not A. Reasons: The fact is that absolute majority occurs when a candidates scored more than half of the total votes cast which is in arithmetic means 2/3 of votes cast. However,absolute majority is never an electoral system but a means to achieve an electoral system/systems that ensure candidate with absolute majority of votes cast such: Alternative vote system, Single tranferable proportional representation vote system and Second ballot system of voting used in France.
