Major Changes introduced in Nigeria by the Clifford Constitution of 1992 are:

(i) A new legislative council for the colony and protectorate of Nigeria (Northern protectorate not inclusive) was established.

(ii) The Nigerian Council of Lord Lugard was abolished.

(iii) One of the major achievements or changes introduced by Clifford was the introduction of the elective principle in Nigeria.

(iv) A new Executive Council was established for the whole country.

(v) Lagos and Calabar were mostly favoured in the areas of political activities and formation of political parties

(vi) Daily Lagos News, West. African Pilot, etc, were some of the newspapers that helped to further the tempo of political activities.
