The answer is not Baale or Ilari the right answer is the Iwarefa(the oba had the power to appoin them as important officers that carries out the administration of the palace.They performed and supervised routine functions in the palace and in Oyo).

The correct answer is B. Ilari

Roles of the Ilari

1. Royal Messengers – They delivered the Oba’s commands to different regions.

2. Tax Collectors – They helped in revenue collection for the palace.

3. Palace Administrators – Some Ilari managed palace affairs and ceremonies.

4. Supervisors of Tribute – They ensured that tributes from vassal states were properly accounted for.

5. Executioners & Law Enforcers – Some Ilari carried out punishments on behalf of the king.

The iwarefa is not a single officer
they were the six most senior members of the ogboni society
iwa=elders
refa= six
