Nnamdi Azikiwe ("Zik of Africa") is closely associated with radical nationalism in Nigeria.
Through his fiery journalism (e.g., in the West African Pilot) and political activism, he mobilised Nigerians for immediate independence, especially during the 1930s and 1940s. His approach to nationalism is more confrontational and aimed at achieving the independence of Nigeria. His efforts led to the creation of the "Zikist Movement", an army of supporters who rallied behind him.
