Which of the following does not belong to the exclusive legislature introduced into the Northern Region of Nigeria?
The Northern Region of Nigeria did not participate in the 1922 Clifford Constitution because that constitution’s legislative council applied only to the Southern Provinces (Lagos and Calabar). The North was still governed separately under indirect rule and had no representation in that legislative arrangement.
From 1946 onward (Richards Constitution and later reforms in 1951, 1954, and 1960), the Northern Region became fully integrated into Nigeria’s constitutional development and legislative structure.
