well according to the Text books, its officially disclosed that Nigeria gained her independence in 1960. so option "D" is correct .i.e 1st of October 1960. But Nigeria became a Republican in 1963, where we have Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe as the Governor General...

officially nigeria gained her independence in oct 1st 1960but she gained her full independence in oct 1st 1963....note the question differs student should alway read and understand question very well before answering..if the question is about full independence then the answer is oct 1st 1963 but if the examiner did not specify it the answer is oct 1st 1963
