(a) Meaning of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) - Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was originally intended as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.

- It encompasses legal, moral, and philosophical beliefs held true by all people. It has become a living document that asserts its, own elevating force on the events of our world.

- Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is the primary international expression, in concrete terms of the fundamental and inalienable rights of all members of the human family.

(b) Core rights or freedom in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948;

i. Every is entitled to social and international order

ii. Every human being has the right to life

iii. The right to work

iv. The right to education

v. The right to freedom of opinion and expression

vi. The right to dignity of the human person

vii. The right to private and family life

viii. The right to own property alone as well as in association with others

ix. The right to privacy

x. The right to a nationality

xi. No human being should be subject to slavery, and the slave trade 

xii. The right to social security

xiii. The right to marry and to build a family

xiv. All human beings should be treated equally in dignity and rights as all are born free
