Which of the feeds, X or Y would a farmer feed the group of livestock possessing specimen H? Give four reasons for your answer.
(d) Draw a labelled diagram of specimen l to show its essential features.
(a) Specimen H is a piece of rumen which ís derived from the alimentary canal of ruminant animals e.g Cow while Specimen I is gizzard or alimentary canal of poultry bird up to gizzard. It is derived from the alimentary canal of a bird.
(b) Specimen H is possessed by ruminant animals like cattle, sheep and goat while specimen I is derived from non ruminant especially, poultry birds e.g. domestic fowl.
(c) Feed X contains 60% milled maize cobs and 40% maize powder while Feed Y contains 30% milled malze cobs and 70% maize powder. From the above feeds, a farmer would prefer to feed his livestock possessing specimen H ( rumen) with Feed X.
