Explanation

(a) Specimen F is Hoe. Its functions are as follows:

  • It can be used for weeding.
  • It can also be used for planting and transplanting
  • It can be used for making heaps of ridges.
  • It can be used for harvesting crops as well as digging of drainage channels.
  • Hoe is a good implement for land clearing.

Maintenance of Specimen F and H:

  • Hoe can be maintained by sharpening blunt edges.
  • By washing blade after use.
  • By application of grease before long time storage.
  • By washing blade and dry after use,
  • It can also be kept in a cool dry place after use.

Specimen H (Rake). Functions of Rake include:

  • Cleaning and packing plant debris,
  • It can be used for breaking up soil clods.
  • It can be used for levelling the soil.
  • It can be used for spreading manure.
  • Rake is useful in spreading grains, and farm produce etc.

Maintenance of Rake;

  • Rake can be maintained by straightening bent prongs.
  • By applying oil to prevent termite attack
  • Application of grease before long time storage.
  • By washing and drying the tool after use for spreading soil or fertilizers.
  • By quick replacement of damaged prongs or handles.

Specimen K is called (Pliers) Functions:

  • for holding or handling bots and nuts or for tightening
  • It can be used to cut wires
  • For gripping firmly and twisting wires.
  • Also good Tor removal of nails.
  • It can be used for bending strong wires or metal pieces.

Maintenance of Specimen K;

  • Piers can be maintained by oil or greasing after use.
  • Proper lubrication should be done in case of long time use.
  • Store the plier in a dry place
