Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA) has maintained a competitive standard for its Earth Science programmes.
​The Official Cut-off Mark
​General Cut-off: The minimum JAMB score required to be eligible for the FUTMINNA Post-UTME screening is 150.
​Departmental Target for Geology: While the university-wide minimum is 150, Geology is a specialized course within the School of Physical Sciences. Based on previous trends and the current 2026 admission cycle, a JAMB score of 180–200 is considered a "safe" target to remain competitive for merit-based admission.
​Admission Requirements for Geology
​To successfully secure a spot in the Geology department, you must meet the following criteria:
​O'Level Requirements: You must have at least five (5) credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
​JAMB Subject Combination: Your UTME subjects must have been English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Mathematics, depending on your specific O'Level strengths, though Biology is preferred for Geology).
