I registered for jamb and when I'm about to register DE they said I can't...

I registered for jamb and when I'm about to register DE they said I can't register the two in the same year
so I went to the state jamb office and was told to sit for the utme exam even tho I planned to forfeit it for direct entry because I already have an OND
my question is will jamb still allow student to apply for DE after it closes by April?
