Short-sightedness, or myopia, is an eye condition where distant objects appear blurry while close objects are seen clearly. It happens because light is focused in front of the retina instead of on it, typically because the eyeball is too long or the cornea is too curved. It is a common vision problem often corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or laser eye surgery.
What short-sightedness is
Vision: You can see nearby things clearly, but distant objects, like road signs or a whiteboard, are out of focus.
Cause: The eye's focusing system is too strong, or the eyeball is too long, causing light to converge in front of the retina instead of on it.
