— your cousin can still gain admission if she writes NECO next year. Here’s how it works 
1. If she writes NECO in June/July 2026:
The result usually comes out around September.
If she applies for JAMB 2026, she can still gain admission that same year, as long as the NECO result is ready before her school’s admission screening.
Many universities, polytechnics, and colleges accept “awaiting results” during JAMB registration — she’ll just need to upload the NECO result once it’s out.
2. If she writes NECO GCE (Nov/Dec 2025):
The result usually comes out by February or March 2026.
That means she can use it for JAMB 2026 admission.
3. Key tip:
While preparing for NECO, she should also register for JAMB 2026, so she doesn’t waste a year.
As long as she passes NECO with the required five credits (including English and Maths) and meets the school’s cutoff, she’ll be qualified for admission.
