Let:
Nitrogen = a, and Carbon dioxide = b,
Pa= partial pressure of a, Pb= partial pressure of b, and Pt= total pressure.
Pt= 2 atom
Na= 0.3 mole
Nb= 1.2 mole
N= Na + Nb= 1.5 mole.
Pa= (Na/N) Pt
= (0.3/1.5) × 2
= 0.4 atom
