While some institutions set specific deadlines, many accept applications throughout the year. However, some course providers accept candidates on a first come, first served basis, and may close the application window once they've received sufficient interest.

'Applications open approximately 12 months prior to the start of a course,' says Alexander Malin, admissions service manager at the University of Warwick. 'Places are limited in some departments so submit your application as early as possible.'
