■Fermentation is an anaerobic process, meaning it doesn’t use oxygen. It occurs in the cytoplasm. Its purpose is to replenish the supply of NAD+ by oxidizing NADH. This enables glycolysis to keep working. There are many different kinds of fermentation pathways, but the main ones are alcohol fermentation and lactic acid fermentation.
Lactic acid fermentation converts the pyruvate into lactic acid.
Alcohol fermentation converts the pyruvate into ethyl alcohol and a carbon dioxide.

■Esterification is the Conversion of carboxylic acids to esters using acid and alcohols (Fischer Esterification ) by James. Description: When a carboxylic acid is treated with an alcohol and an acid catalyst, an ester is formed (along with water). This reaction is called the Fischer esterification .

Fermentation is a metabolic process that produces chemical changes in organic substrates through the action of enzymes. In biochemistry, it is narrowly defined as the extraction of energy from carbohydrates in the absence of oxygen.

Sugars are the most common substrate of fermentation, and typical examples of fermentation products are ethanol and carbon dioxide.
In the presence of the enzyme zymaze (found in yeast)

Esterification is a condensation reaction between an alkanoic acid and an alkanol to form Esters.(alkanoates)
