Is it just me, or is JAMB not allowing scientific calculators absolutely dumb?

They say it can give a "unfair advantage" but if everyone is using it, everyone becomes equal. And the stupid thing is that, they ask you questions that require a scientific calculator. From square roots to sin, cos, and tan values (Not including 0°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90°) From questions like angle of depression, to finding the square root of irrational numbers. Knowledge can't help you there. There is no way you're gonna memorize all that. So I don't understand why this is a thing?
Even WAEC's non-calculator paper makes more sense. They ask you questions that are solvable without a scientific calculator, and/or they'll give you a table of values. But JAMB as we know, doesn't do any of this.?
