An iron rod is 1.58m long at 0°c.what must be the length of a brass rod at 0°c if the difference between the lengths of the two rods is to remain the same at all temperatures.linear expansivity of iron=1.2×10^-5k^-1,linear expansivity of brass=1.9×10^-5k^-1.?

Expansion Iron = 1.2x10⁻⁵
Expansion brass=1.9x10⁻⁵
Length in iron =1.58m
L₂α₂=L₁α₁
L₂=L₁α₁/α₂
L₁=(1.2x10⁻⁵)x1.58
--------------------
1.9x10⁻⁵
L₁=0.998m
L₁=1.0m
