An observer standing at a point on the same horizontal ground at a plot A of a tower shout and 1.20seconds later he hears the echo,he then move to another point B, 40cm from P and shout again but the echo was heard at 1.45seconds. calculate: Distance between P and H The speed of sound in air?

For calculating the distance that sound travels; distance = velocity x time. Hence, the distance between the sensor and the object is one-half the distance traveled by the sound wave.

distance traveled by sound is:
Total Distance=2×slant height of the tower
Using the echo formula:
Total Distance=𝑣×𝑡Total Distance=v×t
