a caretaker has to provide food for 40 people. he decides to give them a choice of chicken or fish. each chicken can provide for up to 4 people and each fish for up to 8 people. he decides to use not more than 6 chicken and also that the number of fish should not exceed the number of chicken used.
a) if x is the number of chicken used and y is the number of fish used, show that the inequality x 2y>=10 must be satisfied.
b) write down two more inequalities which must be satisfied.
c) using a scale of 2cm to 1unit on each axis, draw the graph of the above three inequalities and shade the region that satisfies all three inequalities.
d) if the cost of chicken is 6naira and the cost of fish is 10naira, use your graph to identify the values of x and y which would give the minimum cost and find the maxim cost.?
