1. It is known that 2 out of every 5 marbles manufactured by Company A are defective. Find the probability that out of a random sample of 8 marbles manufactured:(a) Exactly 5 will be defective.(b) At least 2 will be defective.(c) At most 2 will not be defective.
2.Two soft drinks manufacturing companies P and Q produce big bottles of orange drinks. The volumes of orange drinks in the bottles are normally distributed, those produced by company P have mean volume of 524.66cl and standard deviation 15.01cl and those produced by company Q have mean volume of 528.21cl but the same standard deviation as those produced by company P. A bottle is acceptable for export if its volume exceeds 500cl but is rejected otherwise. Find the percentage of bottles rejected from: (a) Company P (b) company Q?
