A faulty barometer tube has some air at the top above the mercury. When the length of the air column is 250mm, the reading of the mercury above the outside level is 750mm. When the length of the air column is decreased by 200mm, by depressing the barometer tube further into mercury, the reading above the outside level becomes 746mm. Calculate the atmospheric pressure.?
