YABATECH loses college director to COVID-19 complications

The management of Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), on Tuesday, January 26, released a statement confirming the death of the College Director, Academic Planning Unit, Mr. M.A.O Omoighe to complications arising from COVID-19.

The death of the director reportedly led to the shutting down of the university main campus, with all students ordered to vacate the hotels latest Thursday, January 28, 2021, the closure of the Medical Centre for a minimum of two weeks and lecturers were instructed to resort to the online teaching mode immediately.

Omoighe who died on a Sunday, January 24, 2021, at an undisclosed hospital, joins the list of other university workers across the country that have been recently lost to the ravaging COVID-19 virus.
